This page answers common questions about using Content Lifecycle Manager.

Does the plugin change post status or URLs?

No. Content Lifecycle Manager does not change WordPress post status or permalinks as part of its maintenance workflow.

Why is content showing as Needs Attention?

Content usually shows as  Needs Attention when:
– the next review date is missing
– the next review date is overdue
For more detail, see: How to Review and Maintain Content

Why does the editor panel not appear?

Check:
– that you are using the Block Editor
– that the post type is enabled in plugin settings
– that plugin assets are not being served from stale cache
If you recently updated the plugin, try a hard refresh.

For more detail, see:
How to Use the Editor Panel
Plugin Settings

Can I use the plugin with existing content?

Yes. Use the setup flow for existing content from the Settings screen.

How to Set Up Existing Content

Can I capture content ideas too?

Yes. The Ideas section lets you save titles and notes, then convert those ideas into draft posts later.
Full guide:
How to Manage Content Ideas

Why does Delete ask for confirmation in Ideas?

Deleting an idea is permanent, so the plugin shows a confirmation prompt before the action is applied.

What are Pro features?

Content Lifecycle Manager Pro adds:
Owner reminder notifications – automated emails to content owners when review dates are approaching or overdue
Admin activity digest – a scheduled email summary of all maintenance activity on the site
Activity log – a full audit trail of every change made to content lifecycle data
Dashboard widget – a content health summary on the WordPress dashboard

Why am I not receiving owner reminder emails?

Check the following:
– owner reminders are enabled in Settings > Notifications
– the post has an assigned owner
– the owner’s user account has a valid email address
– WordPress cron is running on your site (WP-Cron must be active)
– the next review date is set and within the configured due soon window

Why am I not receiving the admin digest?

Check the following:
– the admin digest is enabled in Settings > Notifications
– the recipient email address is valid
– WordPress cron is running
– there was activity during the covered period — no email is sent if nothing changed

How far back does the activity log go?

The activity log retains entries for a configurable number of days (default: 90 days). Older entries are removed automatically by a daily cleanup task.

Does the activity log track all changes to a post?

No. The activity log only tracks changes to Content Lifecycle Manager maintenance data – owner, last reviewed date, next review date, and archived status. It does not track post content, title, or other WordPress data.
