WPVibes at WordCamp Asia 2026: Our Team Is Heading to Mumbai

Table Of Content

Mumbai. April 9–11. The Jio World Convention Centre.
WordCamp Asia 2026 is almost here.

And a good chunk of the WPVibes team will be there.

We build WordPress plugins for a living, tools that help people manage content, build beautiful sites, and run their businesses on WordPress. But the community behind WordPress has always mattered to us just as much as the products we build. WordCamp Asia 2026 is where that shows up most clearly this year.

Here’s the WPVibes team heading to WordCamp Asia and how they are involved

Pooja Derashri: Organizer (Co-Lead – Program Team)

If the WordCamp Asia 2026 schedule looks well thought through, the Program team deserves the credit. And Pooja has been right at the centre of it as a co-lead.

Months of work go into this before a single attendee walks through the door. Speaker selection, session planning, keeping everything on track across a multi-day event. It’s a big commitment of time and energy, and we’re genuinely proud of her for taking it on.

Anand Upadhyay: Organizer (Contributor Day) and Speaker

At WordCamp Asia this year, Anand is contributing both behind the scenes and on stage.

On the organizing side, he’s been part of the Contributor Day team, helping plan and coordinate the day where the WordPress community sits down and works on WordPress together. A lot goes into making that day run well, and Anand has been part of making it happen.

He’s also on stage. And this is one to watch.

Panel: Education Initiatives in the WordPress Ecosystem

April 10, 2026 at 1:55 PM IST

Anand joins Destiny Kanno and Maciej Pilarski for a panel on how WordPress is building learning models that connect classroom education with real contribution, mentorship, and global collaboration.

The panel covers practical ground, integrating WordPress into academic programs, building student communities through Campus Connect, creating mentorship pathways, and supporting educators who want to bring open source into their classrooms.

The idea at the heart of it: stop treating open source as a chapter in a syllabus and start treating it as a career runway.

Anand has been thinking about WordPress education and community for a long time. This panel is a natural extension of that. If you’re at WordCamp Asia on April 10, the session starts at 1:55 PM and is well worth attending.

Gajendra Singh: Table Lead, Core AI Table

Contributor Day is where the WordPress community gets hands-on, and Gajendra is leading the Core AI table this year.

AI in WordPress is one of the most active areas the community is working through right now. Gajendra will be helping contributors find where to plug in, what to work on, and how to make the day productive. His understanding of both WordPress and where AI fits into it makes him a good person to be guiding that table.

It also reflects something we think about at WPVibes, how AI can fit into real WordPress workflows in ways that are actually useful.

Hardik, Priyanshi, and Rashi: Volunteers

The three of them will be on the ground as volunteers, the people who keep the event running smoothly for everyone attending.

WordCamps run entirely on volunteer effort. It is not the most visible role, but it is one of the most important ones. We’re glad Hardik, Priyanshi, and Rashi chose to give their time to it.

Hemant and Stuti: Curious Attendees

Not everyone needs a listed role. Sometimes you show up, take in three days of sessions, meet people from across the WordPress world, and come back with your head full of ideas.

That’s Hemant and Stuti at WordCamp Asia 2026. There to learn, get inspired, and bring it all back. That’s a pretty good way to spend three days.

Riddhima Upadhyay: Sponsored Student Attendee

WPVibes is also sponsoring a student from Ajmer to experience WordCamp Asia 2026.

Riddhima Upadhyay is a third-year student at Government Women’s Engineering College, Ajmer, and an organizer of the WordPress Student Club there. She has been actively involved in student-led WordPress learning and community activities.

This will be Riddhima’s first WordCamp Asia, and we’re excited for her to experience the broader WordPress community, learn from contributors, and bring those insights back to the student community in Ajmer.

Supporting students like Riddhima is a small step toward strengthening the next generation of the WordPress ecosystem.

Community Is Not a Side Project for Us

We ship plugins. That’s what WPVibes does. But the reason those plugins exist, the reason any of us ended up working in WordPress, is the community that built this ecosystem and keeps it going.

WordCamp Asia 2026 is a good reminder of that. Our team is showing up as organisers, contributors, speakers, volunteers, and learners. We’re glad to be part of it.

Let’s Connect in Mumbai

If you’re heading to WordCamp Asia, come say hello.

Whether you want to talk about WordPress, plugins, community, open source, or just connect with fellow WordPress folks, we’d love to meet.

You can catch Anand at the panel on April 10, or connect with any of us during the event.
