Do I need ACF installed to use this plugin?
Yes. Frontend Editor ACF is an addon for Advanced Custom Fields (ACF). You need ACF, either the free version or ACF Pro, installed and active on your site.
Is anything hard to set up?
No. Install the plugin, activate it, and the “Edit ACF” button appears automatically on any page that has ACF fields. You can optionally go to Settings to choose which post types show the editor, but it works right away without any setup.
Which ACF field types does it support?
It supports 20+ field types: text, textarea, number, range, email, URL, password, image, file, WYSIWYG, oEmbed, select, checkbox, radio, button group, true/false, page link, date picker, date & time picker, time picker, and color picker.
Will my visitors see the edit panel?
No. The panel and the “Edit ACF” button are only visible to logged-in users who can edit that post. Visitors see your site exactly as it normally looks.
Will it slow my site down?
No. The plugin only loads scripts for logged-in users with edit access. Visitors never load any extra files, so your site speed is not affected at all.
How much does it cost?
